K-pop Group Newbeat Launches First Original Variety Series ‘NEWBIETRAP’
Rising K-pop boy group Newbeat—comprising Park Min-seok, Hong Min-seong, Jeon Yeo-jeong, Choi Seo-hyun, Kim Tae-yang, Jo Yoon-hoo, and Kim Ri-woo—is stepping beyond the stage and into the world of original content. On June 2 at 6 PM KST, the group officially premieres episode one of their first self-produced YouTube series, NEWBIETRAP.
The show, teased under the tagline “Newbies’ Brutal Variety Show Experience,” has already sparked fan anticipation with a compelling trailer. Beginning with a seemingly dreamy and romantic trip, the mood rapidly shifts as the group discovers this ‘trip’ is actually a cleverly disguised ‘trap’ crafted by the production team. With extreme missions like walking 100 kilometers back to their agency, emotions run high as members face fatigue, frustration, and emotional breakdowns—particularly Hong Min-seong, who is seen shedding tears.
This show marks another chapter in Newbeat’s momentum-filled career. Since their explosive debut in March with the full album RAW AND RAD, the group has captured media headlines.
