Lee Jun-young and Jung Eun-ji Dive Into Intense Fitness Hell in KBS2’s New Drama
Korean heartthrob Lee Jun-young brings hardcore comedy to the small screen in the premiere episode of KBS2’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama, ‘24-Hour Fitness Club’. Airing on May 1, the drama introduces viewers to Do Hyun-jung, a former world-class bodybuilder turned no-nonsense fitness club owner with a sardonic edge.
Lee’s portrayal as Do Hyun-jung had fans rolling with laughter as his character embarked on what he dubbed “hellish training” for new club member Mi-ran, played by Jung Eun-ji. Promising to toughen her up so ‘no one ever underestimates her again,’ Hyun-jung’s brutal, comedic workout routines ranged from flexibility and strength tests to outdoor sprints under the city lights.
‘You’re failing in every aspect—flexibility, endurance, even stamina,’ he sneered with a devilish grin before putting Mi-ran through the wringer. The comedic twist? He ups her workout game after critiquing her dream dress as ‘child-sized,’ leaving audiences in stitches.
The hilarity continues as Hyun-jung agrees to be Mi-ran’s plus-one at a wedding where her ex will appear. Mistaken for her new boyfriend by coworkers, Hyun-jung quips, “My biceps are straight-up insane today,” staying gloriously in character as the muscle-obsessed trainer.
‘24-Hour Fitness Club’ blends romance, transformation, and offbeat humor, making it a new must-watch for K-drama fans. The series airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 PM KST on KBS2.
