BTS’ V Shares Spring Update Ahead of Military Discharge

With just 40 days left before his discharge from the military, BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) warmed fans’ hearts by sharing a snapshot of his everyday life on Instagram Stories on April 30.

Among the updates were several photos featuring workouts, cherry blossoms, and floral moods. Captioning one photo simply with “cherry blossom,” V followed it up with another post saying “one more time,” openly expressing his longing for the fleeting beauty of spring and his desire to savor the season with fans worldwide.

V added emotional depth to his posts by including the track “Sweet Dreams” by fellow BTS member J-Hope, as well as the song “Design” by American punk band Gustaf — a track that played during V’s first official appearance at a Celine fashion show. Gustaf reacted warmly, thanking V for introducing their music to fans and sharing comments from new listeners who discovered them through the star.

One standout photo featured V with a flower in his hair alongside CF director Ray J. Yi. This charming visual highlighted V’s playful, youthful charm. Ray J. Yi resonated with the moment, resharing the image with a simple caption referencing flowers in the hair.

The collection also struck a stylistic contrast — cherry blossoms evoking emotional sensitivity, while gym photos emphasized physical strength and discipline. Despite maintaining impressive arm muscles, V looked thinner than before, aligning with his previously mentioned post-military discharge goal of shedding 10 kg after reaching a peak of 86 kg from his pre-enlistment 62 kg.

Fans also noticed that the gym where V was training looked identical to the space used by singer Kim Jongkook in his YouTube channel “Gym Jongkook,” sparking speculation and hopeful excitement about a potential post-service appearance by V on the popular fitness show.

Immediately after sharing his update, the name KIM TAEHYUNG soared to the top of worldwide real-time trends, reinforcing his global influence and staying power. His name also dominated trend charts across multiple countries, notably including the U.S.

V is set to be officially discharged from the military on June 10.
