K-Pop Rising Stars NEXZ Dazzle Fans with Dynamic Comeback Show and New Mini-Album ‘O-RLY?’
K-pop rookie group NEXZ (Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Gun, Seita, Hui, and Yuki) has officially returned with a bang. On June 28 at 6 PM KST, the group dropped their highly anticipated 2nd mini album O-RLY? along with its title track of the same name. The electrifying comeback was celebrated with a special global broadcast, NEXZ COMEBACK SHOW O-RLY?, aired simultaneously on Mnet and the M2 YouTube channel.
The group opened the show with a playful video presentation of their third track Want More? One More!, which embodies their magnetic charm and ambition to lead like the “Pied Piper.” This was followed by a heartwarming performance of Run With Me, a sentimental track written exclusively by HAN of Stray Kids, touching fans with its emotional resonance.
The final track Slo-mo stood out for its silky harmonies and showcased the soft yet confident vocal color of all seven members. Fans got a full-throttle experience with Simmer as the group revealed the entire performance, which had already gained buzz through its pre-release music video teaser.
NEXZ brought their signature humor back as well with new skits featured in the show. Following last year’s Street Genius Fighter segment, the members this time starred in a skit titled Best Friends Palace, where they hilariously competed to find their ‘best friend’ within the group. The chemistry and charisma of individual members shone through, with Tomoya and Haru ultimately securing the title of best-matched duo.
The grand finale? The debut stage of their title track O-RLY?. Infused with old-school hip-hop vibes, bold choreography (including a showstopping human tower formation), and a message about living freely without caring about others’ opinions, the track is classic NEXZ — bold, youthful, and inspiring. Members Tomoya, Yu, and Haru personally contributed choreography, adding a unique layer of authenticity to the performance.
“We’re beyond happy and honored to meet our fans again,” the group said following the show. “Being on stage again made us think, ‘This is exactly what we want to do.’ We poured so much effort into making a great piece of work. We hope this album becomes something powerful and emotional that our fandom NEX2Y can be proud of.”
NEXZ’s new release is already building momentum, ranking No. 1 on Hanteo Chart’s Daily Album Chart the day of its release and topping the Japan iTunes Top Album Chart the following morning. Their title track O-RLY? soared to the top of Bugs Realtime Chart by 10 PM on release day. With this much buzz, NEXZ is set to cement their place as a new-gen K-pop powerhouse.
