MeloMance Returns with Spring-Tinged Mini Album ‘Romance Express’
South Korean duo MeloMance is back on track with their latest release, the eighth mini album titled Romance Express. Dropped on music streaming platforms at 6 PM KST on April 29, the album marks the group’s return after nearly two years since their 2023 release, ‘찬란한 하루’.
Romance Express takes listeners on a romantic musical journey through six emotionally resonant tracks themed around ‘love’ and ‘dreams’. Crafted as if aboard a sentimental train ride, the album showcases the duo’s signature warmth and lyrical finesse.
The lead single, ‘아무 날의 서프라이즈’ (Surprise of an Ordinary Day), is a touching portrayal of a couple who find joy in everyday moments. The track blends classic swing rhythms with whimsical piano and violin melodies, perfectly matching the mood of spring.
Other songs include ‘괜찮아 사랑해’ (It’s Okay, I Love You), a heartfelt ballad affirming unconditional love, and ‘Blooming’, an instrumental piece by Jeong Dong-hwan that captures the blossoming of spring with strings and a piano trio. ‘꽃잎’ (Petals) softly narrates the delicate unfolding of love, while ‘우리의 축배’ (Our Toast) offers vivid imagery of a delightful evening through jazzy brass and 12/8 rhythm piano. Rounding out the album is the motivational anthem ‘Your Way’, a song of encouragement for dreamers everywhere.
MeloMance’s artistry shines throughout the album, as members Kim Min-seok and Jeong Dong-hwan have participated in every aspect of songwriting and composing. Their vision culminates into what they describe as a “comprehensive musical gift set” for fans and a fresh milestone in their genre, often referred to as “MeloMance Pop.”
The duo teased fans with a music video snippet for the lead track on April 28, featuring glimpses of happy couples enjoying sweet moments. The full video and the album were both released on April 29. As a special treat, both Kim Min-seok and Jeong Dong-hwan made cameo appearances in the music video.
To celebrate the release, MeloMance is launching a national tour titled Romance Station, beginning May 23–25 at Olympic Park Olympic Hall in Seoul. The tour will visit ten cities, offering fans a chance to experience the new album’s romantic vibe live.
With Romance Express, MeloMance once again reminds listeners of the beauty in everyday moments and the season of spring. Their heartfelt music continues to bridge emotions and melodies, making this release one to watch in 2024.
