Green Star Entertainment Expands Global Reach Across Drama, K-Pop, and Trot Music

Green Star Group is leading the global Korean wave with K Pop groups drama production and trot music

Green Star Group’s Bold Leap into Global Entertainment

Green Star Group, led by founder Kim Tae-yeon, is making remarkable strides in global entertainment. Following the acquisition of Chorokbaem Management in 2008, the group rebranded as CMG Chorok Stars and diversified its portfolio across drama, variety shows, movies, and music production.

CMG Chorok Stars became a household name with their production of OCN’s hit drama Vampire Prosecutor and MBC’s popular variety show Kkukke Island’s Secret. Their influence further expanded with award-winning films like Ferris Wheel, China Blue, and Kkotson.

Venturing into K-Pop and Short-form Drama

Green Star Entertainment carved a niche in the K-Pop scene by developing boy group M-Pire, pioneering girl band Kiwi Band, retro idol group MINIMANI, and recently launching comeback girl group LOVEONE. The company has embraced new media, targeting younger audiences through trendy short-form dramas like That’s You and preparing cross-national projects with major Japanese agencies.

Dominating the Trot Music Scene

With star composer Lee Seung-han, famous for creating Park Hyun-bin’s hit Gondre Mandre, now onboard, the company is grooming emerging Trot talents such as Nah Hyun-min, Yoo Soo-hyun, and Han Song-yi to expand nationwide market presence.

International Expansion and Future Outlook

Opening Korea’s first K-Pop exclusive theater in Busan’s Haeundae and signing a deal with 13-year-old Japanese prodigy Mori Ran, Green Star Group’s ambitions are clear. With key branches like CMG Chorok Stars, Green Star Entertainment, Green Star Japan, and Green Star Hong Kong (綠星娛樂公社), the group is poised to significantly influence future Hallyu trends by 2025, offering creative, diverse content worldwide.
