Park Jin-young Embarks on a New Journey With tvN’s ‘Our Unwritten Seoul’
Park Jin-young, also known as Jinyoung from GOT7, makes his highly anticipated return to the screen with tvN’s new drama Our Unwritten Seoul. In a recent pictorial, he captured the stillness of the city and the depth of internal narratives, showcasing a more mature aura than ever before.
During the accompanying interview, Jinyoung opened up about his character, Lee Hosu, stating, “He never moves unless his heart is truly touched, but once it is, every word and action becomes genuine.” He added, “Though some may find similarities with Lee Dong-jin from my previous work The Witch, a deeper dive into the script revealed completely different personalities.”
When discussing why he chose this project, Jinyoung revealed, “The dynamic relationships surrounding Lee Hosu deeply resonated with me.” Ultimately, these connections—between family, friends, and lovers—circle back to the core theme of ‘love.’
He candidly reflected on how his perspective shifted after completing his military service. “Previously, it was hard for me to endure broken emotions. Now, I think, ‘What can I do?’ when faced with adversity,” he shared. Jinyoung also described his military experience as a “golden time,” allowing him to focus fully on himself.
Jinyoung explained that maintaining sincerity requires continuous self-discovery, which fuels his passion for acting and performing. He admitted that his enduring love for his craft is the reason he never steps away from the stage or set. Recently, reconnecting with fans through GOT7 activities reignited his memories of why he embarked on this journey. “Hearing fans’ cheers again made me realize, ‘Oh right, this is why I loved doing this so much,'” he recalled.
Balancing both acting and music comes with its challenges, but Jinyoung confessed, “Although physically exhausting, it fortifies me mentally.” His resilience is evident as he continues to navigate both industries with unwavering dedication.
