SEVENTEEN Embarks on Daring Adventure with New Album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’

K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN is gearing up for a bold new chapter as they approach their 10th anniversary with the release of their highly anticipated 5th studio album, HAPPY BURSTDAY, set to drop next month on the 26th.

On April 28 at midnight, SEVENTEEN unveiled the interactive trailer DARE OR DEATH through their official YouTube channel and social media. Designed in an interactive, choose-your-ending format, the trailer consists of three parts: a main story, Side A DARE, and Side B DEATH.

The story delves deep into SEVENTEEN’s inner selves, awakening their ‘Daredevil’ personas and challenging viewers to choose between ambition and complacency. In the main trailer, the members encounter a blazing Daredevil figure and grapple with overwhelming impulses and intense imagery, symbolizing the merging of their daring alter egos into one entity.

The emotional climax comes with member Wonwoo standing atop a building, inhaling deeply as the phrase ‘Choose for yourself. Challenge or Settle.’ flashes across the screen.

Side A, titled DARE, showcases a fearless SEVENTEEN embracing their inner Daredevils, stepping boldly into new beginnings amidst explosive flames, symbolizing their rebirth. Conversely, Side B, DEATH, reveals the consequences of giving in to fear—the members disappear into smoke, culminating in haunting “MISSING” flyers fluttering through the air.

Closing messages highlight the stark contrast: “FACE THE CHALLENGE, BURN ANEW” for DARE, and “WITHOUT CHALLENGE, THERE IS NO NEW BEGINNING” for DEATH, affirming SEVENTEEN’s unwavering resolve.

With HAPPY BURSTDAY blending themes of birth, explosion, and fresh starts, fans are buzzing with anticipation about the stories and sounds awaiting them.

SEVENTEEN recently demonstrated their immense popularity by selling out all tickets to their SEVENTEEN 2025 JAPAN FAN MEETING ‘HOLIDAY’ at Kyocera Dome Osaka from April 24 to 27, drawing an audience of 120,000. The group is next set to perform at the Saitama Super Arena on May 10–11, promising more unforgettable moments for their fans.
