Yoon Sang Opens Up About Tensions with Son Anton on ‘Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend’
The June 26 episode of KBS2’s ‘Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend’ (EP.703) continues with the second part of the special titled “Artist Edition: Kim Hyun-chul, Yoon Sang, and Lee Hyun-woo.” This nostalgic tribute features three icons from the golden age of K-pop who once made hearts flutter and now return as artists—and as dads.
Yoon Sang, famously known as the father of RIIZE’s Anton, gets candid about his personal journey through fatherhood. “It’s a blessing Anton made his debut as an idol,” says Yoon Sang. “But there was definitely tension between a teenage son and a father just entering midlife. We had our fair share of mental duels.” His honesty resonates deeply with viewers also navigating generational gaps within their families.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyun-woo attributes his consistently youthful appearance and good health to one thing: love. “It’s all thanks to my wife,” he shares passionately, adding with a laugh, “Please don’t edit that out! It’s the most important part.” Host Shin Dong-yup charmingly replies, “I know this couple well—we’re keeping it in!”
The second part of this special episode promises stellar performances and fierce competition as a lineup of top-tier male vocalists battle for the win. Beloved balladeer Lee Seok-hoon, ‘Asia Prince’ Hwang Chi-yeul, powerhouse vocalist Yoo Hwe-seung, and rising talent Jeong Seung-won will all perform iconic tracks from the featured artists.
Highlights include Lee Seok-hoon’s rendition of Lee Hyun-woo’s emotional classic “I Must Erase You in the Sadness,” and Hwang Chi-yeul embracing cuteness and charm in his version of Lovelyz’s Yoon Sang-composed hit “Ah-Choo.” Yoo Hwe-seung takes on Kim Hyun-chul’s “Fall of the Moon,” while Jeong Seung-won covers Lee So-ra’s “I’m Happy,” composed and written by Kim Hyun-chul. Bringing a feminine touch to the lineup, Jo Jung-min will deliver a touching performance of Lee Hyun-woo’s “Dream.”
‘Immortal Songs’ continues to bridge generations of musical talent, reminding fans both young and old why these legends still matter today.
