Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin: Korea’s First Ghost-Seeing Labor Lawyer Hits Prime Time

MBC’s latest fantasy comedy series, “Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin”, is set to premiere on May 30, promising a fresh and gritty take on labor rights—with a supernatural twist. Led by acclaimed actor Jung Kyung-ho, this comic-action drama tells the story of Noh Moo-jin, a labor attorney who, after a near-death experience, gains the unexpected ability to see ghosts.

The show’s first teaser is already turning heads. It opens with Moo-jin hustling to launch his fledgling labor law office, followed by eerie scenes that hint at his pact with a mysterious entity. The teaser’s tagline, “No other profession gets their hands this dirty,” captures the offbeat tone of the series.

Noh Moo-jin, played by Jung Kyung-ho, navigates hazardous workplaces and intervenes in labor disputes—with the added mission of helping ghosts resolve their old grudges. His resourceful sister-in-law Na Hee-joo (Seol In-ah), who’s always on the lookout for lucrative ventures, and viral-chasing video creator Go Kyun-woo (Cha Hak-yeon) join in to exploit Moo-jin’s unique gift.

Directed by veteran filmmaker Yim Soon-rye in her debut television project, the series brings together prominent screenwriters Kim Bo-tong (“D.P.”, “The Outlaws”) and Yoo Seung-hee (“My Love, My Bride”, “I Can Speak”), foreshadowing a compelling mix of heart and humor.

The teaser showcases Jung Kyung-ho’s flair for physical comedy—dodging danger with slapstick action and delivering lines with exhausted wit. “Ghost-seeing labor attorney” might sound like a quirky gimmick, but with an all-star cast and top-tier creative team, the drama is poised to punch above its weight.

Catch the premiere of “Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin” on MBC at 9:50 PM KST on May 30. If you loved “D.P.” or are looking for Korea’s take on legal drama with a paranormal flair, this one’s for you.
