K-Pop Group NEXZ Turns Heads with Bold Comeback Teaser ‘O-RLY?’
JYP Entertainment’s budding boy group NEXZ—comprised of members Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Geon, Seita, Hyui, and Yuki—delivered a statement that echoed loud and clear: “OH REALLY?”. The group is gearing up for their highly anticipated return with their second mini-album, ‘O-RLY?’, set for release on April 28.
On April 22, JYP added fuel to the growing excitement with the release of a sleek concept film via their official social media channels, following the photo teasers revealed just a day earlier. The cinematic visual captures each member amidst moments of introspection and communication in a world filled with swirling conversations and unspoken tension.
The film opens with Tomoya leafing through a flurry of scattered newspapers, as Haru and Yuki engage in smartphone texting. Yu and So Geon exchange conflicting glances, while Seita tilts his head toward a telephone receiver and Hyui gazes intently at his phone screen while wearing earphones. Time momentarily freezes as the members exchange gestural dialogues echoing surprise, empathy, and raw curiosity—emotions that seem to fill the space around them.
Set against rich visuals and an editorial-style layout, the video subtly introduces a snippet of the title track ‘O-RLY?’. Its layered sound design features background ad-libs like “Really?” and “Seriously?”, enhancing the song’s immersive vibe. The most striking moment comes at the end when Yu stares directly into the camera and asserts a bold, “OH REALLY?”, leaving a lasting impression on viewers and stoking further anticipation for the full release.
Ahead of the album drop, NEXZ held a special livestream on April 21 via their official YouTube channel to share behind-the-scenes insights with fans. The group discussed their favorite tracks from the new album and expressed their excitement for their first comeback of 2025.
‘O-RLY?’ drops on April 28 at 6 PM KST. Just two hours later, NEXZ will premiere their comeback special, ‘NEXZ COMEBACK SHOW O-RLY?’ simultaneously on Mnet and M2’s YouTube channels. The show will feature first-time performances of the mini-album’s tracks including the title song and the pre-release single, ‘Simmer’.
NEXZ is clearly positioning themselves as one of K-pop’s most compelling rookies. With concept films that mix visual storytelling and musical intrigue, the septet is making waves both in Korea and globally.
