NewJeans’ Hyein Expresses Heartfelt Gratitude to Fans on Her Birthday Amid Ongoing Legal Dispute

On her birthday, K-pop sensation Hyein from the popular girl group NewJeans reached out to fans with a heartfelt handwritten letter, expressing sincere gratitude for their overwhelming support.

Through NewJeans’ official social media platform managed by the group, Hyein shared a photo of her letter along with a message saying, “Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes.”

Celebrating her birthday on March 21, Hyein admitted, “Every single letter I received brought me immense comfort. I honestly wanted to reply to all of you.” Her message further demonstrated a deep affection for Bunnies, the devoted NewJeans fandom.

The singer also expressed her regret about not being able to participate in all the fan-organized birthday events. “I actually wanted to visit more locations, but suddenly developed severe stomach pain right before arrival and couldn’t go in,” she explained, assuring fans, “I truly didn’t mean to skip any place—it wasn’t a lie. I just got sick out of nowhere.”

Despite missing some events, Hyein emphasized how deeply moved she was by the fans’ love and surprise gatherings, saying, “The birthday events Bunnies organized were so touching. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

This emotional moment comes amid an ongoing legal battle between NewJeans and their agency, ADOR. Back in November, all members reported their decision to terminate their exclusive contracts with the label and pursue independent careers.

On March 21 of this year, the Seoul Central District Court sided with ADOR by approving their injunction, affirming its status as the rightful management company. Furthermore, on May 16, the court dismissed the objections filed by the five members, maintaining the legal stance that NewJeans must not engage in entertainment activities such as media appearances or commercial work without prior authorization from ADOR.

Following the ruling, representatives for NewJeans stated that the recent decision pertains only to the injunction and that they plan to advocate for their position in the main lawsuit.
