Meet ‘Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin’: A Ghost-Seeing Lawyer Takes Center Stage in MBC’s New Fantasy Series
MBC’s highly anticipated new weekend drama, Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin (No Musa Noh Moo-jin), is set to premiere on May 30 at 9:50 PM KST. This unique fantasy-comedy series follows an unmotivated labor attorney who suddenly gains the troubling ability to see ghosts, only to find himself entangled in both the land of the living and the dead — all while solving complicated labor disputes.
Directed by Yim Soon-rye, renowned for films like My Brutal Boss, Little Forest, and Collective Bargaining, and written by Kim Bo-tong (D.P., The Outlaws) in collaboration with Yoo Seung-hee (My Love, My Bride, I Can Speak), the series already has a dream team behind it. Produced by Broccoli Pictures, the show is building buzz ahead of its premiere with the release of its first teaser poster.
The poster, dubbed the “Lightening Strike Teaser,” captures the moment of transformation for protagonist Noh Moo-jin, played by Jung Kyung-ho. Surrounded by ghostly specters with a bewildered expression on his face, the tagline reads: “A 180-day labor agreement at the risk of your life.” It brilliantly sets the stage for Moo-jin’s desperate, often hilarious attempts to help spectral clients resolve labor injustices in the physical world.
Noh Moo-jin is portrayed as a non-ideological, paycheck-driven labor attorney who struggles to even pay his office rent. After a near-death experience, he inherits the unwanted ability to communicate with ghosts, who begin to demand justice for their unresolved labor grievances. What unfolds is a comical yet heartfelt growth journey as Moo-jin battles bureaucracy, worker exploitation, and supernatural chaos.
Jung Kyung-ho brings his charisma and impeccable comedic timing to this dual-world narrative, promising a standout performance that blends humor with high-concept fantasy. Early previews suggest a whirlwind of action, satire, and social commentary dressed in a ghostly veil.
With social awareness and quirky charm, Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin is being hailed as one of the most imaginative series of the year. Don’t miss MBC’s groundbreaking new dramedy when it hits screens on Thursday, May 30.
