K-Celebs Go Off-the-Grid in Hit Show Featuring a Seafood Feast and Wild Hijinks

South Korea’s beloved variety show ‘푹 쉬면 다행이야’ (no official English title), affectionately nicknamed ‘푹다행’, aired one of its most unforgettable episodes on June 21st, earning a strong 5.7% viewership rating and topping its time slot, according to Nielsen Korea.

This week’s adventure featured the high-energy quartet known as ‘흥4’—Boom, Young Tak, Jeong Dongwon, and Yang Se-hyung—as they embarked on a seafood-catching mission deep in the wild. With their spirits (and fishing nets) high, the crew shouted playful chants like “Young Tak! Young Tak!” in lieu of grunts, turning even hard labor into entertainment.

The group’s perseverance paid off big time when their second net revealed an ocean bounty—octopus, cuttlefish, amberjack, blowfish, flounder, and even massive spotted sea bass.

“I’ve never caught a fish this big before in my life!” exclaimed Young Tak, overwhelmed by the sheer scale of their haul. Boom added, “It’s like a fish market on this boat!”

Renowned chef Ahn Yu-seong turned the boat into a culinary theater, slicing and dicing a range of fresh catches at lightning speed. The result? A high-end seafood spread that included assorted sashimi, aged kimchi sushi, blowfish tempura, and spicy octopus noodles.

The mouthwatering feast took place on a remote island restaurant, a signature element of the show. With techniques rivaling those of Lee Yeon-bok, Jung Ho-young, and Yeo Kyung-lae, Chef Ahn’s detailed prep—like removing poisonous parts of the blowfish—demonstrated true master-level artistry.

Among the standout moments, Jjeong Dongwon earned laughs as the rookie islander chomped down sashimi shouting “Best sushi of my life!” and tried on a hilariously macho persona with squid ink smeared across his face. His impromptu dance to “Take Responsibility” further lifted the mood.

The episode proved that the show’s mix of survival, cuisine, and comic banter continues to strike gold with audiences. From the high-stakes net hauls to an island feast for the ages, ‘푹다행’ delivered nonstop laughs and visual delights.

Meanwhile, the teaser for the next episode promises even more mischief and charm with special appearances by Jang Hyuk, Ko Chang-seok, and iconic g.o.d. members Park Jun-hyeong and Sohn Ho-young.

‘푹 쉬면 다행이야’ airs every Monday at 9 PM KST on MBC.
