Actor Hyeon-ri Joins Disney+’s ‘A Shop for Killers Season 2’ as a Lead

South Korean actress Hyeon-ri is set to make a powerful return to the small screen, having been cast as a new lead in the upcoming Season 2 of Disney+’s hit action-thriller series A Shop for Killers.

Returning after the unexpected global success of its first season in 2024, A Shop for Killers grabbed international attention with its stylish action sequences, gripping plot twists, and richly layered characters. With Season 2 confirmed and slated for a 2026 release, anticipation just reached a new high following the announcement of Hyeon-ri’s participation.

In the series, Hyeon-ri plays ‘Q’, the commanding leader of a mercenary unit within the East Asian division of the covert organization ‘Babylon’. The role promises to showcase her dynamic range — delivering both emotionally resonant performances and meticulously choreographed action scenes.

Hyeon-ri, who debuted in 2006, has steadily built a diverse and international portfolio across Japan, the U.S., and Korea. Notably, she captured the attention of global audiences with a special appearance in the 2022 Apple TV+ original series Pachinko. Her previous credits include standout performances in Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy and Heaven Is Still Far Away by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, HBO’s Tokyo Vice Season 2, as well as major Japanese TV dramas such as Eye Love You (TBS), Inside Police (Fuji TV), and Lawyer Sodom (TV Tokyo).

Having earned accolades like the Best New Actress Award at the 29th Takasaki Film Festival in 2015 and the Asia Star Award at the 12th Seoul Drama Awards in 2017, Hyeon-ri has become a symbol of cross-border acting excellence.
