Rising Star Jeong Seung-won Faces Off a Legend on ‘Immortal Songs’
K-pop rising star Jeong Seung-won is heating up the stage on Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend, a flagship music show on KBS2, with a surprising pick for his top rival — none other than veteran vocalist Lee Seok-hoon.
During the episode aired on April 19, which spotlighted legends Kim Hyun-chul, Yoon Sang, and Lee Hyun-woo, Jeong Seung-won named Lee Seok-hoon as his main competitor in an upcoming performance battle. Interestingly, Lee had previously expressed sincere admiration for Jeong, saying, “I really like Jeong Seung-won. I’m a fan.”
This isn’t the first time these two artists have crossed paths. Jeong Seung-won, formerly a member of Reverante, claimed victory in the SG Wannabe tribute episode of Immortal Songs. Lee, who is known for his association with SG Wannabe, even praised Jeong’s solo track “Namuip (The Leaf),” citing its relaxing vibe, detailed arrangement, and vocal tone on national radio.
Now, with Jeong set to perform the upbeat anthem “Nan Haengbokhae (I Am Happy)” in the upcoming episode airing April 26 at 6:05 PM KST, fans are eager to see if the anticipated face-off between past legend and rising champ will unfold.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. Jeong recently released a new single titled “Neo-reul Saranghandaneun Mal (I mean, I love you)”, showing his growth as a solo artist. Adding to this momentum, he announced his much-anticipated debut concert 2025 1st Concert in Seoul JUNG SEUNGWON, scheduled for May 10-11 in Seoul.
As Jeong prepares to take the spotlight once again, K-pop fans across the globe are keeping a close eye on what could be a clash of musical titans on Immortal Songs.
