Park Hae-joon Reflects on the Emotional Success of ‘My Foolish Heart’
South Korean actor Park Hae-joon recently opened up about the overwhelming reaction to his drama ‘My Foolish Heart’ (original title: 폭싹 속았수다), expressing how deeply he’s still emotionally attached to the project.
“After the show was released, the love and support from viewers was so overwhelming that I still feel like I’m floating,” Park shared. “I try to ground myself, but it’s tough. My heart is still with that story. I genuinely enjoyed watching it myself.”
In a candid conversation with national MC Yoo Jae-suk, the actor admitted he found it difficult to watch all the episodes due to the emotional intensity. “I started watching it but paused halfway through—it felt too heavy on my heart. I plan to watch the rest when I’m in a more relaxed state, just one episode at a time,” he said.
The drama resonated not only with audiences but also within his inner circle. Park recalled a humorous reaction from his agency’s CEO: “He told me, ‘Hyung, now people have finally forgotten about your previous role in Love Is Not a Crime,’ and he seemed genuinely thrilled. The people I meet now greet me with big smiles, unlike before—it’s a refreshing change.”
‘My Foolish Heart’ has struck a nerve with local and international viewers alike, praised for its raw storytelling, nuanced performances, and emotional depth. As Park continues to process the show’s incredible success, fans can expect to see more of his layered acting in upcoming projects.
