Korean Actor Hae-jun Park Breaks Down in Tears Remembering His Ailing Father

Korean actor Hae-jun Park brought audiences to tears in a recent interview when he opened up about the emotional journey behind his latest TV drama role. While filming the later episodes of the series ‘Poksak Sokassuda’, where he portrays a middle-aged character battling cancer, Park noticed something profoundly personal.

“As I started to lose weight for the role, I began to see my father’s face in mine,” Park said, becoming visibly emotional. The actor revealed that his own father had battled cancer, and the experience deeply influenced his performance.

Park’s sincere confession during the interview resonated with fans and highlighted the emotional depth he brought to the character, adding authenticity born out of real-life pain.

His two sons surprised him during the filming, cheering him on from the studio audience. Beaming with pride, Park commented, “It feels incredible to talk about my kids. It doesn’t make me humble—just really happy.”

Sharing how he began his acting career, Park reflected on his journey: “I got accepted into the Korea National University of Arts kind of suddenly, but I was dismissed. I wanted to act again so badly that I re-enrolled. My parents supported my dream, even helping me with housing. I’m forever grateful.”
