Fashion and Vision

NMIXX’s Jiwoo and Kyujin, the dynamic duo from the popular K-pop group, recently graced the pages of Harper’s BAZAAR Korea with a captivating photoshoot. Reflecting a whimsical and dreamy vibe, the photos captured their youthful essence while highlighting the unique aesthetics they bring to the group.

Reflections on Music

When asked about their latest mini-album ‘Fe3O4: FORWARD,’ Jiwoo expressed a desire to reveal a more mature and chic version of herself. “The goal was to showcase a side of me that no one had seen before,” she shared. “Thankfully, it seems that our fans, the NSWERs, have appreciated this transformation.”

Kyujin, recalling a memorable fan comment on the pre-released track ‘High Horse,’ added, “Someone mentioned that this felt like we created an artwork beyond typical idol music. That feedback was empowering. It’s these words that remind us of the wide scope and boundaries of the music we explore.”

Evolution of Mix-Pop

NMIXX has always been at the forefront of mix-pop, blending various genres into a cohesive sound. Jiwoo remarked, “At first, it felt like an opportunity to showcase our diversity. Now, it’s become a genre we excel at, showcasing multiple music styles within a single track.”

Kyujin reflected on their early days, “We were a group that received mixed reactions due to the unfamiliarity of mix-pop. However, with time, I believe our fans have embraced our unique flavor and expression. It’s been a journey of finding what suits us best.”

Next Steps

Looking ahead, Jiwoo stated, “I aim to be a better version of myself each day than I was last year. It’s about perseverance. A piece of advice from my sister resonates with me even today: ‘Even if it’s tough, keep going, and you’ll see the light.’”

Kyujin is eager for new challenges. “From choreography to music creation, I have a bucket list, and I want to explore all possibilities. I want to live each day to its fullest potential, so I have no regrets.”
