Unexpected Victory in the Waves: Kim Jong-min Outswims Park Tae-hwan
A thrilling episode of ‘If You Rest, It’s a Relief’ unfolds on June 23
MBC’s popular variety show, ‘If You Rest, It’s a Relief’, showcased an unexpected turn of events in its 53rd episode, aired on June 23. The episode featured newlywed Kim Jong-min, Koyote members Baek Ga, national swimmer Park Tae-hwan, Billy member Tsuki, and chef Lee Won-il, as they embarked on an adventurous journey managing a remote island restaurant.
The Rough Seas
The team revisited their previous haerujil spot, a renowned location for shell gathering, this time perfectly timed with the ideal tides. Kim Jong-min and Park Tae-hwan donned diving gear, transforming into competitive meoguri (divers), plunging into the ocean.
Park Tae-hwan, akin to a ‘National Representative Diver’, quickly amassed a bounty of seashells and sea cucumbers, drawing admiration and amazement from his peers. The atmosphere was intense, with Kim Jong-min jokingly pleading, “Tae-hwan, save some for me, too!” His nervous energy, however, soon shifted to determination.
An Unexpected Turn
In an unforeseen twist, Kim Jong-min managed to locate and collect a rare marine creature that Park had overlooked, earning cheers and amazement all around. Displaying newfound confidence, Kim remarked humorously, “I didn’t mention it in front of Tae-hwan, but I won this time!” Observers could see his newfound pride, with many noting, “Today, your shoulders are as broad as Park Tae-hwan’s.”
A Difficult Task for Tsuki
Throughout the day, Billy’s Tsuki found herself struggling due to the antics of Kim Jong-min and Baek Ga. Watching from the studio, Shin Ji apologized on behalf of the duo, humorously stating, “Unnie is sorry for you, Tsuki.” The episode leaves viewers curious about why Shin Ji apologized and how Tsuki managed to overcome the challenges.
For avid fans, this episode offered a glimpse into the less competitive yet more humorous aspects of teamwork and the unexpected moments that variety shows often bring.
