Stray Kids Set to Dominate Japan with New Album ‘Hollow’ and Historic Stadium Shows

Global K-pop powerhouse Stray Kids continues its meteoric rise in Japan with exciting developments in 2024. The group is slated to release its highly anticipated third Japanese mini-album titled ‘Hollow’ on June 18, marking their first local mini release since 2022’s ‘Circus’.

The teaser images for ‘Hollow’ offer a mysterious and ethereal concept featuring a transparent orb, intensifying fan anticipation for Stray Kids’ evolving sound and aesthetic. The image hints at a more introspective and experimental direction, fueling global curiosity.

This release comes on the heels of their massive success in Japan. Since their official Japanese debut in March 2020, Stray Kids has consistently topped music charts like Oricon, Tower Records, and Billboard Japan. In 2023, the group packed iconic stadiums like Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome Osaka with over 315,000 fans during their world tour, solidifying their superstar status in the region.

Adding to their accolades, their 2021 Japanese single ‘Scars / Thunderous -Japanese ver.-‘ was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan after reaching a cumulative shipment of 250,000 copies. Furthermore, their 2024 full Japanese album ‘GIANT’ earned a Double Platinum certification with over 500,000 units shipped.

Meanwhile, member Felix featured on Japanese pop star LiSA’s track ‘ReawakeR’. The song topped the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart on March 8 and held the number one spot on Billboard Japan’s ‘Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan’ chart for six consecutive weeks. It also reached number one in seven regions including Germany, UK, and Malaysia.

Rounding out their Japan takeover, Stray Kids will host four monumental solo concerts at the Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa on May 10-11 and 17-18. This marks their debut at a Japanese stadium venue—an impressive milestone in their already legendary career.

Stray Kids is proving they’re not just a K-pop group, but a global force redefining the boundaries of international music success.
