In the latest episode of JTBC’s hit show If You Leave the House, Dogs Will Flourish, K-pop group IVE’s Rei takes on a special role as a “teacher” for small and medium-sized dogs. Rei’s appearance on the show aired on October 8th, capturing the hearts of many viewers with her genuine and heartfelt interactions with the dogs.
Crafting a Cozy Environment
Rei teamed up with actress Kang Sora to decorate name tags for the dogs attending the “Dog Kindergarten.” As they worked meticulously on the project, Kang Sora couldn’t help but praise Rei’s meticulous crafting skills, saying, “You’re truly talented!”
Rei, fondly reminiscing about her childhood, shared, “I’ve always loved decorating things, like sticker crafting or keeping a drawing diary. Even in my early debut days, when I had some time, I would craft and these days, it’s all about photo decorating.”
Building a Special Bond
The real emotional pull came when Rei met a hearing and visually impaired dog named Teto. As Teto attended the kindergarten for the first time, Rei’s attentive care caught the eyes of viewers.
“Teto seemed anxious about new environments because he couldn’t see,” Rei revealed. She applied tactile training techniques learned from experts, slowly fostering a bond with Teto. Her diligent care paid off as Teto gradually opened up, giving Rei a kiss and even seeking comfort from her.
Helping Teto Find Friends
Furthering her nurturing approach, Rei facilitated a “Get To Know Teto” class to ensure Teto could seamlessly integrate into the group of dogs. She shadowed Teto, offering treats when other dogs approached, gradually creating positive associations.
The warmth and affection between Rei and Teto grew, ending in affectionate kisses and cuddles that softened the hearts of many viewers.
