Cha Eun-woo Shines at the Trail Running Challenge

An Unexpected Appearance

On the latest episode of MBN’s special project variety show, ‘Run to Live’, we were treated to a surprise appearance by singer and actor Cha Eun-woo. His presence at the trail running event added a dash of excitement to the proceedings, held in celebration of MBN’s 30th anniversary.

The Challenge Begins

Broadcast on the 7th, the 8th episode spotlighted the ‘Run to Live’ crew as they took on their first trail running event post their half-marathon success. Directed by Sean, the leader, the crew gathered in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do, to kick off rigorous mountain training.

Coach Kwon Eun-joo announced, “Today is for mountain training to prepare for trail running. We will run about 500 meters, so don’t worry about exerting yourself.” Nonetheless, the 500m mountain relay training turned out to be more grueling than expected. The steep ascents and descents tested the crew’s physical limits, leading to some emotional farewells.

Emotional Goodbyes

Jung Ho-young, taking the mic, shared, “Due to commitments with my business and staff shortages, today will be my last day with the crew. It’s a tough decision to make, and I’ll sincerely miss everyone.” His heartfelt farewell left the team in poignant reflection.

Meanwhile at the Trail

The following day saw around 2,300 participants gather on Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung for the trail running competition, spanning distances of 11km, 50km, and 100km. The ‘Run to Live’ team tackled the 11km circuit, which featured diverse terrains, from beaches to marshlands, and forest trails.

A Star-struck Start

Right before the race commenced, we witnessed a delightful reunion between Go Han-min, actress Lee Si-woo, and Lim Se-mi. However, stealing the spotlight was multi-talented Cha Eun-woo, positioned at the forefront of the starting line. His dynamic presence, acknowledged by fellow runner Lee Jang-jun, added allure to the event.

Building Anticipation

In the episode’s teaser, Lee Jang-jun is seen recognizing Cha Eun-woo while running along the shoreline, cheerily greeting him, “Hello, Eun-woo!” Meanwhile, Cha Eun-woo’s resolute expression, with clenched fists as he sprinted through the forest, further stoked expectations for the upcoming broadcast.
