Boy Next Door Unveils Playful Side in ‘No Genre: No Matter’ Concept Film
K-pop group Boy Next Door—comprised of Holy Name, Rio, Myung Jae-hyun, Tae-san, Lee Han, and Woon-hak—has stirred excitement among global fans with the release of their first concept film for their upcoming 4th mini album No Genre.
The film, titled No Matter version, was dropped on HIVE Labels’ official YouTube channel at 10 PM KST on April 23. Set inside a moving truck turned mobile home, the stylized video presents an artistic chaos—featuring sofas, snacks, and a small television, suggesting that simplicity brings contentment.
As the story unfolds, the members wake up to find their TV remote missing. Flashbacks of the night’s party lead them on a humorous scavenger hunt through their memories. From Tae-san dancing solo on the couch to Lee Han vibing with the music, and Holy Name clinging to the side of a speeding truck, each member reflects on their carefree night. Eventually, Rio remembers seeing the remote beside the party table, Woon-hak used it as a mic during karaoke, and Myung Jae-hyun recalls it ended up in the fridge. Tae-san retrieves it, turning the TV back on and restoring peace to the group.
The video’s sleek editing and vibrant tone deliver not only visual entertainment but a glimpse into the rebellious spirit behind the album. With No Genre set to drop on May 13 at 6 PM KST, Boy Next Door embraces the idea of breaking musical boundaries. The lead single I Feel Good celebrates their determination to defy genres and express themselves freely.
Fans can expect the group to release further concept photos and films for the No Route and No Limit versions in the rollout to their comeback, heightening anticipation worldwide.
